Rain Sensors

Don't be "that guy" who runs his sprinklers during a rainstorm. When connected with an automatic irrigation timer, a rain sensor causes the irrigation system to shut down in the event of rainfall. Let our courteous technicians install this low-cost must-have irrigation component today!

Irrigation Sensors

There’s nothing more embarrassing–or more wasteful or
costly–than an irrigation system that runs when it doesn’t have to…in
the rain. A rain sensor provides the simplest, most effective way to
prevent sprinklers from coming on during or after precipitation. It
easily installs on any automatic irrigation system, then shuts
sprinklers off in a storm and keeps them off, automatically compensating
for the amount of rainfall that occurred. Disks absorb water and expand
proportionally to the amount of rain that fell (e.g., a small
cloudburst would result in little absorption, a 6" thunderstorm would
lead to more absorption and expansion). As the moisture-laden disks
expand, they eventually activate a switch that interrupts the circuit
from the controller to the solenoid valves. Once dry, they contract and
release the switch. Thus, rain sensor switches automatically reset without ever
affecting your controller. There’s no better way to ensure that a system
isn’t watering when it isn’t necessary.

Our courteous and experienced technicians install only the best, professional-grade rain sensor switches, to ensure durability and reliability. Install usually takes less than an hour and can be scheduled at your convenience.

Please contact us today to schedule installation of a new water-saving rain sensor.

Design

Whether a small residential project or a large commercial property, our approach is the same: address the water demands of the landscape without wasting valuable resources. Many designers simply saturate a property during every irrigation cycle. This is often very wasteful, since not all plants have the same water requirements. It can also be harmful to certain vegetation that may not react well to oversaturation.

We work closely with irrigation design professionals and landscape architects to provide a holistic approach to the health of your landscape. Irrigation systems are divided into zones of plantings with similar water needs. Whenever possible, low-volume products such as drip irrigation and moisture sensors are incorporated. Sprinklers are spaced appropriately to ensure adequate coverage without oversaturating the landscape or sprinkling imperveable areas (driveways, sidewalks).

Trust our professionals to provide a landscape design that addresses the unique demands of your landscape while incorporating high levels of watering efficiency.

Installation

From the simple to the complex, we do it all. Our highly skilled and courteous professionals will work closely with builders, landscapers, homeowners and developers to install irrigation systems for most projects. Irrigation system have a lot of parts and components. That's why we refuse to cut corners. We only use high-quality, professional-grade products to ensure longevity and
reliability. Whether you're using water supplied by the city, reclaimed or from a well, you can count on us to install it right, the first time.

If it wasn't done right the first time, we can take care of that, too. From minor repairs and adjustments to re-piping and adding new zones, we're a full service contracting firm that specializes in ensuring your irrigation system works properly and efficiently.

With so many parts, any irrigation system needs to be serviced regularly. Don't waste your valuable weekends replacing heads or adjusting the timer. Let us take care of it for you. Whether you need monthly, quarterly or annual service, we have a plan that will work for you and within your budget.

A Florida-friendly yard doesn’t merely offer a beautiful landscape —
it also becomes an asset to the environment, protecting natural
resources and preserving Florida’s unique beauty. Recognizing that the
home landscape is part of a larger natural system will help in creating a
Florida-friendly yard.

The University of Florida’s Florida Yards & Neighborhoods (FYN)
Program provides science-based education to the public on how to create a
Florida-friendly yard. The Southwest Florida Water Management District
partners with the university to provide the education outreach by
supporting FYN programs through county Extension offices in 11 of its 16
counties.

Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ can be considered an expansion of
Xeriscape. A Florida-friendly yard goes beyond Xeriscape, which was
started in Colorado, to better fit our unique geography. It includes
best management practices concerning stormwater runoff and living on a
waterfront.

A properly maintained Florida-friendly yard can help homeowners
conserve water and reduce pollution of water resources. The
Florida-friendly approach to landscaping emphasizes nine interrelated
principles.
